Shipping & Delivery

We offer tiered shipping rates. Orders over $200 qualify for free shipping, orders between $125-$199 qualify for a $9 flat rate, and orders under $125 have an $18 flat rate. While it’s not next-day delivery, your whiskey will get there safely (usually within 10 business days, sometimes earlier). Please note that all alcohol shipments require a signature at delivery from someone 21+.
From time to time throughout the year, we release a superlative single barrel or small blend that is worthy of our black label. I’ve opined on the joys of older whiskeys here [link to journal], but now some particulars on our second black label of the year: our 9-Year Single Barrel Bourbon, releasing Saturday, August 1st at noon and Monday, August 3rd at 2 pm EST.
This bourbon barrel was entered on February 4th, 2017, which maybe doesn’t sound like a long time ago, but it was only about 2 weeks after the end of Obama’s presidency, which put things in a little more perspective. This 53-gallon ISC Char #4 barrel was aged entirely in Brooklyn, at our Cook St. warehouse. Bottled just 219 days shy of being aged a full decade, this is really a rare example of a fully mature craft bourbon. Bottled at 134 proof, this whiskey benefits from a little water to tamp down some of its heat. 
Pulled from the same lot as a 7-Year Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon that came out 2 years ago, this barrel was waiting for its time in the spotlight. As well-aged American whiskey becomes a little easier to find, I’ve been thinking about age as a virtue (and a conceit). If age and rarity become separated again, it augurs for a more interesting time in whiskey once again. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: cooked date, warm mince pie, citrus tea, coconut macaroons, toasted toffee crumble
Palate: mixed berry compote, candied ginger, pomegranate molasses, cinnamon roll, birch bark/sassafras root
Finish: light tannin, fresh leather, white pepper

Pot Distilled

Traditional Techniques

Kings County embraces a variety of whiskey cultures and blends them into creative, distinctive whiskeys. We distill for quality over yield using true pot stills manufacturer in Scotland (Forsyths) and Kentucky (Vendome).

Mashbill

We source directly from farmers in NY and maltsters in the UK because we believe that good choices start from the very beginning. We source our grains locally in NY when we can because we believe distinctive ingredients make better whiskey. Here's a breakdown of what grains goes into making this product.

80% Corn

We source our corn from Lakeview Organic. The same farmer we've been using since day one. Klass and Mary-Howell Martens have cultivated a generational farm that grows 100% organic, non-GMO corn right here in the state in the Fingerlakes region.

20% Malted Barley

Our grain comes from Thomas Fawcett Maltsters in the UK. Specifically, we use Golden Promise malted pale barley. Our high-malt mashbill borrows more from Scotch whiskey than traditional bourbons who typically add a flavoring grain such as rye or wheat.
